A new NJ Transit pilot program is bringing free, on-demand rides to seniors and people with disabilities in South Jersey.
On Wednesday, NJ Transit introduced CG Hopper, a free shared-ride service for residents ages 60 and older and people with disabilities living in Camden and Gloucester counties.
The service offers flexible transportation throughout a designated service area, including trips between the two counties and connections to NJ Transit’s broader transportation network.
Riders can book trips through a new app, online or by contacting the service’s support team.
The pilot program also offers extended service hours to supplement existing county transportation programs.
People already using transportation services through Senior Citizens United Community Services, Camden County or Gloucester County will be automatically enrolled. New riders must complete a one-time registration through SCUCS or the Gloucester County Division of Transportation Services.
Riders can bring a companion or personal care attendant, and service animals are welcome.
The fleet consists of five accessible Toyota Sienna minivans.
